Artificial Intelligence

This course introduces fundamental topics in the study of artificial intelligence. We will study the nature of intelligence and intelligent information processing and examine basic principles of search and knowledge representation. We will then apply these principles to the study of problems in areas such as expert systems, natural language understanding, robotics and learning. The majority of the course will emphasize a symbolic approach to artificial intelligence, although the sub- symbolic (Neural Net) approach will also be considered.
